LEARN About the Types of Plastics and the Many Plastic Manufacturing Processes
This will be an IN-PERSON MEETING July 21, 6:00-8:00PM ((Networking 5:30-6:00 and 8:00-8:30)
Where: 1001 HWY 7, Eisenhower Community Center (Just West of HWY 169), Hopkins MN 55305
Our IN PERSON speaker, Ron Johansson, will give inventors an understanding of many different types of plastics and the many manufacturing methods. You should get a good understating of the manufacturing options are for your product.
You will also learn how to estimate the manufacturing cost of most injection molded parts.
You will also learn how to estimate the manufacturing cost of most injection molded parts.
- WHAT the two major types of plastics are
- THE 13 types of plastic manufacturing processes
- WHAT types of geometries can be manufactured with each process
- HOW to select the best manufacturing options for your product
- HOW to estimate the cost to manufacture an injection molded part
- THE many assembly/attachment methods for plastic parts
Ron Johansson has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 36 years of experience at 3M in developing plastic products.
As part of the New Business Development team he helped identify new business opportunities for 3M and he also screened outside ideas submitted to 3M.
Ron is a Registered Professional Engineer, and author of the "Invention Review Workbook" - A systematic method to review the merits of an Idea/Invention based on 45 criteria, identify the weak points and develop an idea/invention into a marketable product. He has over 30 issued patents.
Ron’s experience in Design/Development includes:
Injection molded parts: Plastic, Rubber, Two shot molded and Insert molded
Vacuum formed parts
Assembly methods for plastic parts
Stamped parts: Metal, Plastic, Rubber
Industrial Respirator development (Including centrifugal fans, filters and valves)
Electrical connectors
And many other plastic products
Who Should Attend:
• Product Inventors
